Dive into the Algerian Blue Economy Conference 2024! 

The successful launch of the Algerian Bleu Economy Conference ABEC 2024 oraganized in collaboration with Callmeblue Project, brought together experts, decision-makers, and key stakeholders,in the blue economy sector. 

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Micro-enterprises, the Ministry of Fisheries and Halieutic Productions, and the Ministry of the Environment and Renewable Energy, this event highlighted opportunities for collaboration and innovation to enhance sustainability in the Mediterranean. Starting with a series of presentations by: 

. Dr. Yacine OUALID - Minister of knowledge Economy, Startups and SMEs. 

. Mr. Harouadi Farid, Inspector General of the Ministry of Fisheries and Fishery Products, representative of Mr. Ahmed Badani, Minister of Fisheries and Fishery Products 

. Mr. Abdelfettah HARIZI - Co-founder, Managing Director of Leancubator. 

. Mrs. Alessandra SENSI - Head of Sector, Environnement, Green and Blue Economy at the Union for the Mediterranean.

A significant highlight of the conference was the successful signing of two strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) between Leancubator, the Cluster Maritime Tunisien, and Strategis - Maritime Center of Excellence (Greece), marking a crucial step forward in fostering international cooperation in the blue economy. 

These partnerships will enable:

. Exchange of expertise in blue economy skills development
. Collaboration on projects supporting startups and SMEs in the maritime sector
. Strengthening of North-South cooperation for sustainable innovation in maritime technologies

After that, the conference moved into a series of engaging round tables that addressed crucial topics and different experts in the blue economy: 

. Round Table 01: Fisheries & Aquaculture Futures Exploring sustainable practices and technological advancements shaping the future of fisheries and aquaculture.

 . Round Table 02: Financing and Insuring the Blue Economy Discussing strategies for sustainable growth, focusing on innovative financing solutions. 

. Round Table 03: Biodiversity Conservation and Eco-Tourism Highlighting the importance of protecting biodiversity while promoting eco-tourism initiatives. 

 . Round Table 04: Innovating the Blue Economy Advancing research and development for sustainable maritime solutions. 

. Round Table 05: Sustainable Maritime Transport and Infrastructure Addressing the need for sustainable practices in maritime transport and infrastructure development.

 . Round Table 06: Strengthening Maritime Clusters Cooperation Sharing best practices and experiences to enhance cooperation among maritime clusters. 

The conference concluded with valuable insights and actionable strategies for participants to foster innovation and sustainability in the blue economy.
