What a remarkable week in Tunis! From visionary institutional insights to on-the-ground regional experiences, these two landmark events reaffirmed a powerful message: cooperation is the driving force of a thriving Mediterranean Blue Economy.
The conference opened with a high-level panel on “Fostering Cooperation in the Mediterranean Blue Economy”, featuring:
Imed Zammit (WestMED Initiative), Anja Detant (CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency), Lidia Rossi (ForMare ) and Adriana Salazar(Union for the Mediterranean).
* Panel 1 | Learning Labs on Maritime Clusters
Showcased practical insights from local workshops and cross-country learning experiences, demonstrating how cluster development, stakeholder engagement, and transnational cooperation can accelerate meaningful impact on the ground.
* Panel 2 | Building Cluster Excellence
Highlighted best practices from both northern and southern maritime clusters, with concrete demonstrations of new services addressing stakeholders’ needs for collaborative innovation and a sustainable transition across the region.
Organised under the Tunisian Co-Presidency with the support of CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency and DG MARE, the 5th edition brought together leading Mediterranean and EU institutions.

This distinction celebrates CALLMEBLUE as a pilot initiative reinforcing the strategic role of maritime clusters, especially in advancing North–South and South–South cooperation. A strong encouragement to continue scaling services, supporting regional actors, and driving collective impact across the Mediterranean.
