The annual event dedicated to startups, technologies, and innovations from three sectors—food industry, agriculture, and aquaculture—covers the entire food value chain, from farm to table, including production, transport, processing, distribution, consumption, and recycling. Foodtech involves innovations related to the design and development of new inputs, products, processes, and foods.

The Foodtech Startup Challenge addressed three themes this year:

Agritech (Agriculture & Agrotech):
This category includes innovative solutions aimed at improving the quality of agriculture or optimizing it through smart solutions. It also encompasses new agricultural products, next-generation farms, and urban agriculture.

Aquatech:
This category focuses on the valorization of bio-resources such as microalgae and microorganisms, data for supply chain management, sustainable aquaculture, alternative aquaculture feeding, hybrid ship propulsion, urban aquaponics, risk management, and alert systems, among others.

Food Security:
This category includes inventions related to optimizing consumption patterns, making all types of food and information about food accessible, managing food waste, optimization, and traceability in the supply chain.
