From July 27 to 30, 2025, Leancubator proudly took part in the Algeria Startup Development Workshop & Investor Connect, held at Algeria Venture Headquarters in Algiers. This four-day event, organized by the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) in partnership with the Ministry of the Knowledge Economy, Startups and Microenterprises, Algeria Venture, the Algerian Startup Fund, and the U.S. Embassy in Algeria, brought together key actors of the Algerian innovation ecosystem to empower startups and connect them with local and international investors.

Represented by Hydaia Salem, Project Manager at Leancubator, the organization played a key role in mentoring two innovative startups: Think Touch, represented by its CEO Farah Bouras, and Biofertech, represented by Ikram Idir, Operations Research Manager. Leancubator and the experts provided strategic guidance and pitch coaching to help both teams sharpen their business presentations and prepare for investor engagement.

Throughout the workshop, participating startups benefited from expert-led sessions on intellectual property management, negotiation and licensing in technology commercialization, and understanding investor expectations. A standout feature of the program was the presence of internationally recognized CLDP advisors, including:

Dr. Richard Cahoon, Professor Adjunct in Global Development at Cornell University

Mr. John Fraser, President of Burnside Development and Associates

Mr. Lou Walcer, Visiting Professor of Practice and Entrepreneur in Residence at Cornell University

Their insights were instrumental in helping startups navigate the complexities of global entrepreneurship and investor relations.

The event culminated in pitch presentations followed by direct Q&A with investors, and one-on-one networking sessions designed to foster investment opportunities. It also served as a platform to highlight the strength and diversity of Algeria’s startup scene.

Leancubator’s participation underscores its commitment to supporting early-stage entrepreneurs and fostering a more connected and investor-ready startup ecosystem in Algeria.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to making this event a success and helped the startups identify their weaknesses, transform them into strengths, and effectively convince investors of the value of their solutions.
