ESG Excellence Summit 2026: A Pioneering Platform for ESG Dialogue in Algeria
September 20, 2026
On 22 September 2026, Algiers will host the ESG Excellence Summit 2026, a new platform dedicated to Environmental, Social and Governance issues and their implications for Algeria’s economic ecosystem.
Organised by Leancubator at Hotel El Djazaïr (Saint George), the Summit will bring together business leaders, financial institutions, public-sector representatives, investors, regulators, international organisations and innovation actors to discuss how ESG can contribute to competitiveness, investment attractiveness and sustainable growth.
The Summit is held under the high patronage of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Vocational Training and Education, and the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts.
In partnership with: National Investment Fund, El Djazaïr Istithmar, Commission for the Organization and Supervision of Stock Exchange Operations, Local Development Bank, BNP Paribas El Djazaïr, CNEP Bank, BADR Bank, CASH Assurances, Algerian Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies, General Emballage, UNICEF Algeria, the Delegation of the European Union to Algeria and the Algerian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
ESG is increasingly becoming a strategic issue for companies operating in or connected to international markets. Developments such as Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism and International Sustainability Standards Board standards are changing expectations around sustainability, transparency, risk management and corporate performance.
For Algerian companies, these developments raise practical questions: How can businesses anticipate new requirements? How can ESG support access to finance and markets? And how can companies translate ESG commitments into concrete operational strategies?
The Summit’s programme will cover several dimensions of the ESG transition, including:
The event will bring together stakeholders from across the Algerian and international ecosystem, including financial institutions, regulators, banks, insurers, industrial companies, public institutions and international partners.
The diversity of participating organisations is intended to bring together different perspectives and connect ESG priorities with the operational realities of finance, industry, investment, regulation and innovation.
The Summit is designed not only as a discussion platform but also as an opportunity to build concrete connections between ecosystem actors. Business-to-Business and Business-to-Government meetings will enable participants to explore potential collaborations, partnerships and opportunities around ESG.
The objective is simple: bring the different parts of the ecosystem around the same table and move the ESG conversation from awareness to practical action.
