Innovation ecosystems - encompassing actors ranging from innovative startups and SMEs to researchers, academics, and policymakers - are essential drivers for transformative and sustainable change in coastal and maritime regions.

In the Mediterranean, several funding actions and support initiatives are available to foster innovative ecosystems for a sustainable blue economy through the EU and other international investors. However, it is crucial to raise greater awareness of these opportunities and the related potential for local development across the basin.

The webinar will also aim to highlight and involve exemplary actors supporting the development of innovative ecosystems for a sustainable blue economy in the Mediterranean, focusing on stakeholders from the southern shore of the basin, including "facilitators" and local funding operators as well as international investors/supporters.
