BW’s Innovation Ecosystem Discovery in Germany
July 15, 2024
Leancubator recently embarked on an enlightening discovery tour of Baden-Württemberg’s vibrant innovation and startup ecosystem in Germany. Organized by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Algérie and GIZ Algeria, this experience has significantly strengthened our ties with the BW startup and innovation community and opened up exciting opportunities for collaboration.
Over five days, we visited several key innovation hubs including TUM Campus Heilbronn, part of the Technical University of Munich with a strong focus on fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, and KIT-Gründerschmiede, one of Germany's largest university startup centers known for groundbreaking innovations. We also attended the International Gateway Event at CyberForum (CyberLab, Karlsruhe), hosted by THE LÄB and the European Digital Innovation Hub Karlsruhe (EDIH-AICS).
Our journey continued to BadenCampus, a dynamic platform connecting startups, research institutions, municipalities, universities, and companies to drive regional innovation and digitalization. At AI xpress in Böblingen, we explored an innovative hub for startups in AI, Robotics, Industry 4.0, and Sustainability. We also showcased our activities and networked with key players at the BW Startup Summit 2024 in Stuttgart.
Further visits included the Mannheim Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (MCEI), which supports innovative projects and startups created by University of Mannheim students, and NEXT MANNHEIM, an initiative dedicated to supporting startups and fostering regional innovation. Finally, we visited Chemovator, BASF's corporate incubator driving forward-thinking solutions through open innovation and intrapreneurship programs.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Algérie and GIZ Algeria for organizing this remarkable tour and to all the hosts who warmly welcomed us. This journey has been an exceptional opportunity to exchange knowledge, foster partnerships, and envision a collaborative future for startups in Algeria and Germany
